East Coast Romney Doin’s Fall 2014

Is summer nearly over? When I see entry info for the Big E (Eastern States Expo, W. Springfield MA) and the NYS Sheep and Wool Festival (October 17-18, Dutchess County Fairgrounds, Rhinebeck NY) that’s a bit scary. It’s only August 10.

Little birdies tell me that Romney breeders from Coast to Coast will be at Rhinebeck this year.

DO NOT miss these August entry deadlines! For Sept. and Oct. events.

The New England District’s Regional Romney Show will be at the Eastern States Expo this year. See this update. The info is ONLY about the sheep show. BUT….Be sure to check out the fleece show entries on-line. The info from the ARBA site does NOT YET give the date for the Regional Show. Shows are for BOTH white and natural colored Romneys

The ARBA Annual Meeting and Banquet will be in Rhinebeck this year, the first time since 2008, in connection with the NYS Sheep and Wool Festival.

Make travel plans early, motels fill up fast. There’s also camping on the Dutchess County Fairgrounds. Perhaps someone can tell us if ARBA has reserved any motel rooms in the area…..

The ARBA web site does NOT yet contain info about the date/time/price for Annual Meeting and Banquet. So check back early and often.

FLEECE SHOW AND SALE ENTRIES GO LIVE AFTER LABOR DAY. The Festival’s Fleece Sale registration link will be live after Labor Day. Sign up early, the fleece show/sale (judged Danish) usually has close to 1000 fleeces of all types.
