Greetings from central Illinois. My name is Claire and I’m 11 years old. I show sheep as well as pigs. I play softball, basketball, volleyball, and I am involved in 4-H. I got into showing sheep because of my cousin Dusty and I love it! This is my second year with Romney’s and this will be my first year having lambs and I can’t wait! I also help my sister show Border Cheviots. This year was really different and I was worried we wouldn’t get to show at all but fortunately we got to go to three sheep shows. We went to the Youth Sheep Expo, the Illinois Junior Show, and N.A.I.L.E. I was very fortunate to have Champion Romney Ram and Ewe at both junior shows and Champion Ram and Reserve Champion Ewe in the open show at N.A.I.L.E. My ram “Buddy” was also pulled out in top five for supreme ram. I am really looking forward to the All American Junior Show and can’t wait to see everyone in Springfield, IL in 2021.
